Healthcare IT Bridge Program

If you're an experienced IT professional — sysadmin, network engineer, developer, or project manager — who wants to work in healthcare IT, this program teaches you exactly what's different about IT in regulated healthcare environments. Week 1–3: Healthcare industry orientation — how hospitals work, clinical workflows, and why healthcare IT is uniquely complex. Week 4–6: HIPAA Technical Safeguards — access controls, encryption, audit logging, and breach response from an IT lens. Week 7–9: HL7 & FHIR — healthcare data standards, interoperability protocols, and API integration patterns for EHR systems. Week 10–12: Healthcare Cybersecurity — medical device security, ransomware response, NIST CSF for healthcare, and HITRUST. Graduates receive the RIDA Infoways Healthcare IT Professional certificate, a credential recognized by hospital IT departments and EHR vendors including Epic and Cerner.
